1. Introduction
OpenResume.uz ("OpenResume", "we", "us") is an AI-assisted resume builder. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or otherwise using OpenResume, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Account information.When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider so we can create and identify your account. We don't collect or store passwords ourselves.
Profile information you provide. Your full name, a short bio, personal links (e.g. a portfolio or personal website), and an optional profile photo you upload.
Resume content. Everything you add to a resume - work experience, education, skills, certifications, languages, links, and any custom sections - as well as your chosen template, font, and color settings.
Content you import.If you use "Import from LinkedIn" or "Import from hh.uz", we read the text out of the PDF file you upload (locally in your browser) and send that text to our AI provider to generate resume content. We don't store the original PDF file itself.
Cookies and similar technology. An authentication cookie that keeps you signed in, and a cookie or local setting that remembers your language and theme preference. See Cookies below for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account, and to keep you signed in.
- To let you create, edit, store, and export your resumes as PDF files.
- To generate or improve resume content using AI when you ask us to.
- To remember your preferences, such as language and theme.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the service.
We do not use your resume content or personal information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. AI Processing
When you ask OpenResume to generate or improve resume content - including content extracted from an imported LinkedIn or hh.uz PDF - the relevant text is sent to our AI provider, DeepSeek, solely to produce the generated resume content that is returned to you. We recommend reviewing anything AI-generated before you rely on it; see the Terms of Service for more on this.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small number of service providers to run OpenResume:
- Google and GitHub - for signing in to your account.
- DeepSeek - the AI provider used to generate and improve resume content.
- Vercel Blob storage - for storing uploaded profile photos.
- Our database and hosting infrastructure - for storing your account and resume data.
These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function for us, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account and resume data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a resume, it's removed immediately. If you delete your account from Profile settings, your account, resumes, and uploaded files are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures - such as encrypted connections and access controls - to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data appropriately for what it is.
9. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and export - you can view all of your resume content at any time and export any resume as a PDF.
- Correction - you can edit your profile and resume content at any time.
- Deletion - you can delete individual resumes, or permanently delete your entire account, from Profile settings.
If you're located somewhere with additional statutory privacy rights (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), those rights apply to you as well; contact us using the details below to exercise them.
10. Children's Privacy
OpenResume is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside of your own country. Wherever it's processed, we require it to be handled consistently with this Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
